The Public Engagement Committee, as a sub-committee of the Waldoboro Comprehensive Plan Committee, has been tasked to seek out your opinions and aspirations as Waldoboro residents and business owners, and relay that information to the full Committee to assist in settings goals and priorities for the Comprehensive Plan Update.
To ensure broad representation of the Waldoboro community, the Public Engagement sub-committee is working to make participation easy and accessible through online polls and surveys, informal weekly Coffee Klatches, and more intensive public forums.
Thank you to everyone that visited one of our Monday Coffee Klatches! These meetings generated lively discussions regarding the future of Waldoboro and provided the Comprehensive Plan Committee with valuable insight that will be incorporated into the implementation strategies laid out in the updated Comprehensive Plan. Notes from these meetings are available to view and to download below. Notes from the May 16th and May 23 Coffee Klatch will be posted shortly.
The Committee will also be conducting a comprehensive community survey that will be available in print and online. The community survey is an important piece of the comprehensive planning process and is an opportunity to gather data that can be used for other projects down the road. It’s essential that we hear from a diverse cross section of the Waldoboro community including those that are not often heard from. To expand our reach, we will be working with local service providers, businesses, and other community leaders and representatives to reach those populations that might otherwise be under represented.
If you are interested in working with us once we launch the community survey, to further accessibility and visibility of the survey to all Waldoboro residents, please fill out the form below.
